We provide soft skills and entrepreneurial workshops, cultural programs, and events to support young women and men in their education and career advancement.
Since its inception in 2011, Afropolitan Canada has evolved from a university project into an established not-for profit organization committed to imparting knowledge and skills to the young men and women and youth of the African and Caribbean diaspora residing in Ontario.
Afropolitan Canada is a volunteer-driven organization that is mentored by a steering committee formed essentially of women who oversee governance and leadership.
At Afropolitan Canada, we are devoted to empowering young people of the African and Caribbean diaspora with key competencies, mentorships, resources, and networks needed to succeed in their professional lives in Canada.
Our main objective is to build ladders of opportunity for the African and Caribbean diaspora to gain equal opportunity in the labour market and lead prosperous and sustainable lives.
Our mandate rests on three important pillars named the Three E (3E):
- Access to Education
- Women Entrepreneurship
- Protection of the Environment
Education is the foundation of professional competence. It is administered through the development of tools and the facilitation of programs that enhance the learning and the development of skills for the next generation of leaders.
Women’s participation in the workforce has been proven to stimulate national economy. We believe that equipping and supporting women in their entrepreneurial ventures will bolster their economic power while closing the gap on economic inequality between the genders.
Our lungs will continue to need air, our bodies will continue to need water and food. Our planet will continue to need us to do our part to protect it. It’s a fundamental priority to set a global standard for all to take the required steps to address climate change in sustainable ways
