About the Weekend
Step out of your routine and immerse yourself in nature while learning outdoor skills, trying new activities, and connecting with inspiring women.
This all-inclusive experience helps participants:
- Build confidence in outdoor and survival skills.
- Foster sisterhood and belonging among BIPOC women.
- Reconnect with nature, health, and wellbeing in a safe, supportive space.

Cost: $125 per person covers (covers rentals, equipment, and activities)

What's Included
Accommodations: Shared cabins (two beds per cabin). Location disclosed to those who have registered or about to.
Meals: Nutritious meals and snacks provided throughout the weekend.
Equipment Rentals: Use of all required gear for activities (paddleboards, fishing rods, safety equipment, etc.)
Facilitators & Workshops: Guided instruction for all scheduled activities, including hiking, paddleboarding, fishing, and campfire sessions.
Community Experience: Access to group activities, sisterhood circles, and campfire gatherings.
What's Not Included
Transportation: Travel to and from the venue.
Personal Gear: Clothing, footwear, swimwear, toiletries, and other personal items.
Optional Extras: Any additional activities or personal purchases outside of the scheduled program.
FAQs
Women Outdoors Weekend (WOW) welcomes BIPOC women (Black, Indigenous, and women of colour) aged 19+ from the Waterloo Region, GTA, and nearby communities.
Not at all! WOW is beginner-friendly. All activities are guided by facilitators who will teach you step by step. Whether it’s your first time fishing, paddleboarding, or hiking, you’ll feel supported.
Your $125 fee covers:
- Access to all activities you register for
- Equipment rentals (paddleboards, fishing rods, etc.)
- Facilitator/instructor costs
- Shared accommodations in cabins
- Campfire sessions and group activities
A packing list will be provided, but essentials include:
- Comfortable outdoor clothing (layers for Canadian fall weather)
- Swimwear and towel
- Sturdy shoes for hiking
- Toiletries and personal items
- Positive energy and openness to new experiences!
Yes, this is an all-inclusive experience. Nutritious meals and snacks will be provided throughout the weekend. Please indicate dietary restrictions when registering.

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the event start time for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event are non-refundable.
WOW 2025 will be held at a location here in Kitchener, ON — surrounded by beautiful fall landscapes and outdoor spaces perfect for adventure. We will disclose the venue to the participants only.
Yes! All facilitators are trained to provide safe, inclusive instruction. Lifejackets will be provided for all water activities.
